Romanovsky Roulette System Explained

This is a strategy developed by Igor Romanovsky, a famous Russian gambler, and is aimed at increasing the player's chances of winning. It does this by asking you to place a series of bets each round. Although there are many similar strategies/systems of this type, Romanovsky is different from the others because it does not require the results of previous rounds to determine what the player should do.

In this respect, we can say that it is one of the easiest roulette strategies to use, as all you have to do is cover the desired number of outcomes - you do not need to follow a series of numbers or do complex calculations. So, does the Romanovsky roulette system actually work? Here, we will analyze it in detail and answer this question.

Fundamentals of Romanovsky Roulette Strategy

When you use this strategy, you can cover 32 of 37 possible outcomes in single-zero roulette games. This gives you an 86.48% chance of winning on every spin. One of the good things about the system is that it doesn't care how you do it. So, as long as you cover 32 outcomes, you can place your chips wherever you want. However, the most practical scenario would be to:

  • Place two dozen + two corner bets

Each of the dozen bets covers 12 numbers, so 24 in total. Each of the corner bets covers 4 numbers, so 8 in total. 24 + 8 = 32. However, you cannot make random selections because your corner bets must cover numbers that stay outside the scope of dozen bets. In this regard, there are four possible scenarios:

  • 1st 12 + 3rd 12 + 13-14-16-17 + 20-21-23-24
  • 2nd 12 + 3rd 12 + 1-2-4-5 + 8-9-11-12
  • 1st 12 + 2nd 12 + 25-25-28-29 + 32-33-35-36
  • 2nd 12 + 3rd 12 + 2-3-5-6 + 7-9-10-11
Romanovsky Strategy

You can use any of these four combinations to make the Romanovsky roulette strategy work. Another thing you need to do is place 3 CAD for the dozen bets and 1 CAD for the corner bets. So, each round you will invest 3 + 3 + 1 + 1 = 8 CAD. A roulette round using this system can end with one of three outcomes:

  • Corner Bet Wins. This will result in a profit of only 1 CAD (since you will lose all your other bets). The probability of this happening is 21.62%.
  • Dozen Bet Wins. This will result in a profit of only 1 CAD for the same reason. The probability of this happening is 64.86%.
  • No Bet Wins. There is a 13.52% chance that you will not win any of your bets – you will have a net loss of 8 CAD.

Once you start playing, you do not need to change your bet combinations and/or bet amounts. This is why the system is so simple: you can continue using it without changing anything until you reach the desired profit. Let's give you an example of five spins to give an idea of how the system works:

  • Spin 1

We lose this spin (bankroll: -8 CAD).

  • Spin 2

Our corner bet wins, making a profit of 1 CAD (bankroll: -7 CAD).

  • Spin 3

Once again, the corner bet wins, making a profit of 1 CAD (bankroll: -6 CAD).

  • Spin 4

We got lucky – our Dozen bet wins, and the profit amount is the same (-5 CAD).

  • Spin 5

Lady Luck is really with us and the Dozen bet wins again (-4 CAD).

This example actually allows you to see what one of the biggest problems of the system is, but let's take a look at the simulation results first.

Romanovsky Roulette System Simulation

We created a simulation using Google Sheets. In this simulation, we used the following parameters:

  • There are 4 players, each with a bankroll of 1,000 CAD.
  • Each player will complete 1,000 spins using this system.
  • The RNG (random number generator) will decide what the spin result will be.

By keeping the number of players high, we are essentially running four different simulations, and keeping the number of spins high allows us to see how the strategy works in both the short and long term. Below is a graph of the simulation results.

Romanovsky Roulette System

No player finished the simulation with a profit. After 1,000 spins were complete, Players 1 and 2 had 666 CAD left. Player 3 finished with 675 CAD, and Player 4 finished with 756 CAD. Throughout the simulation, only Player 3 managed to make a profit of 32 CAD on the 88th spin, but he quickly lost it.

Where Romanovsky Roulette Strategy Falls Short

The 86.48% chance of winning may seem impressive, but that doesn’t mean you’re “guaranteed” to win. You can still lose, and even a single loss at the wrong time can make it very difficult to get back to where you started. Remember the example above: if you’re unlucky enough to lose on your first spin, you’ll need to win 9 rounds in a row to make a profit.

What’s more, even if you were lucky enough, your profit would only be 1 CAD. So even when the system is working, it doesn’t give you a big profit. There’s no way to recover your losses, and as the number of spins increases, you start to see that the 13.52% chance of losing isn’t as low as you think. You can’t beat the casino just by increasing your chances of winning: in the long run, the house always wins.

Final Thoughts

If you are a casual player whose game session does not last more than 100 spins, you can see some results in the short term with the Romanovsky roulette system. However, we should also point out that these can change radically depending on luck, so it will not be possible for them to be consistently useful to you, especially in the long run (100 spins and beyond). You can also look at alternative strategies that offer slightly lower chances of winning but higher profit margins – Romanovsky does not allow you to make more than 1 CAD in profit even when it works.
